Join us on a remarkable journey through the heart of the Great Lakes. Spend some time in America’s most Bavarian town of Frankenmuth and of course visit the famed Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland. Step back in time on Mackinac Island while staying at the iconic Grand Hotel. Mackinac Island is renowned for its timeless charm, horse-drawn carriages, and absence of motor vehicles on the island; making for a unique experience. Enjoy the beautiful scenery as we work our way to Manitoulin Island to take in natural wonders of Northern Ontario and learn more about the local indigenous culture. Our last day will include a memorable ride on the Chi-Cheemaun ferry to Tobermory before returning home. This unforgettable tour packs culture, nature, and history all into one adventure. We will stay 1 night at the Drury Inn in Frankenmuth, 3 nights at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island and one night at the Manitoulin Hotel and Conference Centre, plus breakfast daily and one lunch.

* Please note that this is an active tour. There are no-motorized vehicles on Mackinac Island so it is imperative that you are able to walk around on your own and navigate stairs without assistance! A valid Canadian passport is also required for this tour.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Sunday June 9, 2024 | Home to Frankenmuth, MI (B)

Board our coach at your designated pickup location this morning as we make our way into Michigan to the beautiful Bavarian town of Frankenmuth. The evening will be at leisure to grab dinner (on your own) or enjoy the 5:30pm Kickback – free hot food and cold beverages – included with your stay.

Day 2 -Monday June 10, 2024 | Frankenmuth to Mackinac Island (B)

No trip to Frankenmuth would be complete without a visit to Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland, the world’s largest Christmas store. After we have had a chance to shop, we will continue the St. Ignace where we will board the ferry to Mackinac Island. Check in and you have the evening to explore the hotel and the surrounding area. Dinner on your own.

Day 3 – Tuesday June 11, 2024 | Mackinac Island (B)

After breakfast prepare yourself for a tour like no other. You will experience the most enjoyable and authentic way to view the island in a horse drawn carriage. The tour includes stops at Surrey Hills Museum, Wings of Mackinac Butterfly Conservatory, Arch Rock, and Fort Mackinac Avenue of Flags. After our tour concludes you have the afternoon free to explore the island or do some shopping or grab a bite in a café.

Day 4 – Wednesday June 12, 2024 | Mackinac Island (B)

This morning we’ll have an included breakfast at the hotel before enjoying a free day to take in all the hotel has to offer or explore the island. Opt to enjoy afternoon tea at the hotel, do some shopping, sample world famous Fudge at the Mackinac Island Fudge Company or for the more active, opt to rent bicycles or kayaks and explore the island from a different perspective.

Day 5 – Thursday June 13, 2024 | Mackinac Island to Manitoulin Island (B, L)

After an included breakfast at the hotel, we will transfer to the ferry to board the bus to depart for the border at Sault Ste Marie where we make our way into Canada. We will have a box lunch in order to get to Manitoulin Island to take in an indigenous experience before heading to the Manitoulin Hotel and Conference Centre where we will check in for one night! Dinner will be on your own this evening.

Day 6 – Friday June 14, 2024 | Manitoulin Island – Home (B)

After an included breakfast we will make our way to board the Chi-Cheemaun Ferry. Prepare to embark on a remarkable voyage across the pristine waters of Lake Huron. The name Chi-Cheemaun translates to “The Big Canoe” in Ojibwe. This is more than just a mode of transportation – it’s a scenic adventure. While sailing you can enjoy a lunch onboard (on your own). The Ferry will dock in Tobermory and once back on land we will make our way home, making comfort stops as needed along the way. Our coach will return you to your designated pick-up locations and bid you farewell!
