Join us for an incredible 18 day tour through the picturesque scenery of Northern Canada & Alaska. You will spend 10 days on land driving from Edmonton, Alberta through British Columbia and Yukon before arriving in Anchorage Alaska where we’ll board the Norwegian Jewel for a week at sea. Explore off the beaten path on this seamless Yukon & Alaska trip that goes far beyond the expected. Explore the Peace Country, Yukon Territory, and the heart of the Klondike Gold Rush in Dawson City. Cross into Alaska and visit Fairbanks, Denali National Park, and Tok while searching for bear, moose and caribou along the roadways. Witness nature at its most enticing with glacier-fed lakes and inspiring mountains. Our Yukon & Alaska tour will leave you with hundreds of unique moments to capture, keep and treasure forever. This trip will feature rarely seen vistas, spectacular mountain passes and glaciers galore.

Itinerary

Day 1 – August 16, 2024 | Arrive In Edmonton, AB

Board our coach at one of our pre-determined pickup locations bound for Toronto Pearson Airport where we
will depart on our flight to Edmonton. Upon arrival in Edmonton – Alberta’s Capital City, you will be transferred to the Fantasyland Hotel, located in the world-famous West Edmonton Mall. Spend the afternoon and evening at leisure exploring one of the largest malls in North America.

 

Day 2 – August 17, 2024 | Dawson Creek, BC (B)

Watch the beauty unfold through Northern Alberta and see grandiose lakes, mighty rivers, abundant wildlife
and untapped wilderness. Travel through the great northern prairie region and cross over into British Columbia for your overnight stop in Dawson Creek.

 

Day 3 – August 18, 2024 | Fort Nelson, BC (B)

This morning following breakfast at the hotel, stop at Mile “0” of the Alaska Highway and browse the visitors
centre before you continue into British Columbia’s picturesque Peace Country with its abundance of natural history and agriculture land arriving in Fort Nelson for your overnight stop.

 

Day 4 – August 19, 2024 | Watson Lake, Yukon (B)

Journey through peaceful valleys and alpine meadows north to the Yukon Territory. Along the way try and spot
Indian Head Mountain which resembles a classic Indian. Arrive in Watson Lake, a small town that makes you feel like you have traveled back in time. This evening tour the Northern Lights Centre and experience the folklore and the science of the Northern Lights.

 

Day 5 – August 20, 2024 | Whitehorse, Yukon (B)

This morning after departing the hotel see the world famous “Sign Post Forest”. After we’ll cross the Nisutlin Bay Bridge into Teslin, Yukon – this is the longest bridge on the Alaska Highway. Enjoy the reflections of the glorious mountain ranges in the crystal clear lakes that dot the area enroute to Whitehorse, the capital of the Yukon. See all that Whitehorse has to offer on a city tour including Miles Canyon and the SS Klondike National Historic Site.

 

Day 6 – August 21, 2024 | Dawson City, Yukon (B, D)

Continue north on the Klondike Highway past Lake Laberge, made famous by Robert Service’s poem, “The
Cremation of Sam McGee”. Stop to view the Carmacks Interpretive River Front Boardwalk and the beautiful Five Finger Rapids. Arrive in Dawson City the heart of the world-famous Klondike Gold Rush. Tonight, visit Diamond Tooth Gertie’s Gambling Hall, Canada’s oldest and most unique casino featuring live Can-can girls led by Diamond Tooth Gertie herself.

 

Day 7 – August 22, 2024 | Dawson City, Yukon (B, D)

This morning enjoy a tour of Dawson City, the goldfields, and Dredge No.4. View Dawson City and the Yukon
Valley from the top of the Midnight Dome, a great viewpoint with stunning photo opportunities and breathtaking views. We return to downtown for dinner and visit the famous pub of Bombay Peggy’s, a local Cocktail Bar known as a Sourdough Saloon, and home of the Famous Sour Toe Cocktail.

 

Day 8 – August 23, 2024 | Tok, Alaska (B, D)

Travel north to Alaska! Today you travel over the “Top of the World Highway” and stop at the unique town of
“Chicken” named after the state bird – the Ptarmigan which resembles a chicken. Then it’s on to the village of Tok, where the Eagle Trail crosses the Tanana River and sternwheelers once plied the river.

 

Day 9 – August 24, 2024 | Fairbanks, Alaska (B, D)

Mail your postcards this morning at North Pole, Alaska as you stop by Santa Claus House. Continue on to
Fairbanks, the hub of Alaska’s heartland. This afternoon enjoy a cruise of the Chena and Tanana Rivers aboard a sternwheeler known as Discovery. Witness the “wedding of the rivers,” and gain insight into the ancient
Athabascan Native culture on a tour of the Chena Indian Village. Tonight step back in time and visit Alaskaland for a delicious baked salmon dinner, followed by a musical revue at the Palace Theatre and Saloon.

 

Day 10 – August 25, 2024 | Anchorage, Alaska (B)

Incredible vistas provide a feast for the eyes today on your journey through the town of Nenana to Denali
National Park and Preserve. The panoramic views of the famed Alaska Range continue to take your breath away as you see Mt McKinley – North America’s highest peak. Arrive in the small Alaskan town of Wasilla, home of the annual world-renowned Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race. Get away from the crowds and enjoy some fantastic photo opportunities as we get an intimate and personal visit at an Alaskan Husky dog kennel. Continue to Anchorage where this evening you will enjoy dinner and prepare to set sail on your cruise tomorrow!

 

Day 11 – August 26, 2024 | Seward Alaska (Cruise Embarkation) (B, D)

This morning enjoy breakfast at the hotel before exploring the past at the Alaska Native Heritage Centre and
experience the people at Anchorage’s premier cultural attraction. Hear the songs and stories and see the
dancers before transferring to your cruise departure location this afternoon where we board the Norwegian
Cruise Line’s “Jewel” for our southbound cruise. Welcome aboard!!

 

Day 12 – August 27, 2024 | Cruising the Hubbard Glacier, Alaska (B, L, D)

The Hubbard Glacier, North America’s largest tidewater glacier, boasts a breathtaking turquoise face that rises
nearly 400 feet above water. Stretching six miles wide at the ocean’s edge and spanning 76 miles in length, it
offers an unforgettable spectacle. Towering icebergs add to the grandeur. While cruising near the glacier, be
on the lookout for diverse wildlife, including bald eagles, harbor seals, orcas, and humpback whales.

 

Day 13 – August 28, 2024 | Icy Strait Point (B, L, D)

Explore where the north wind doesn’t blow at Icy Strait Point, a haven for adventurous souls. In this wildlife-rich destination, nature surpasses humanity in abundance. It’s a thrilling getaway, offering an unmatched adventure. Embark on a cruise from Icy Strait Point with Norwegian Cruise Line, immersing yourself in Alaska’s breathtaking landscapes and a myriad of excursion possibilities.

 

Day 14 – August 29, 2024 | Juneau, Alaska (B, L, D)

Juneau, “Alaska’s peak experience,” boasts stunning glacier views in Tracy Arm Fjord, Juneau Icefields, and
Glacier Bay National Park. Explore by kayaking, flightseeing, touring downtown, or gold panning. Don’t
overlook the 12-mile journey to the majestic Mendenhall Glacier—a worthwhile adventure.

 

Day 15 – August 30, 2024 | Skagway, Alaska (B, L, D)

In a single year from 1896 to 1897, this remote town along the Inside Passage grew from a few tents to a city of
20,000 gold seekers. Today, travellers come in search of other riches – to experience yesteryear along
Skagway’s charming boardwalk lined with buildings that replicate those Gold Rush days.

 

Day 16 – August 31, 2024 | Ketchikan (Ward Cove), Alaska (B, L, D)

Thanks to its abundant rainfall, Ketchikan is surrounded by some of the world’s most lush wilderness. Its Tlingit Indian name, Kach Khanna, means “spread wings of the eagle.” Chances are you’ll see one of these magnificent birds perched atop a Sitka tree during your Alaska cruise to Ketchikan (Ward Cove).

 

Day 17 – September 1, 2024 | Cruising the Inside Passage (B, L, D)

Get ready for amazing views and wildlife like nowhere else as you sail through the islands of Alaska’s Inside
Passage. Shaped by the staggering force of massive glaciers millions of years ago, Alaska’s Inside Passage
stretches 500 miles along the Pacific Ocean and boasts wildlife-filled fjords, tidewater glaciers, and lush island
scenery. Watch for wildlife and savour every moment of your last day on board.

 

Day 18 – September 2, 2024 | Vancouver, British Columbia (B)

Welcome to Vancouver – a city that blends big-city sophistication with small-town charm. We will disembark this morning and depart for Vancouver airport where we will board our return flight home to Toronto! Upon arrival in Toronto, our coach awaits to return us to our original pickup locations.
